This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

In this April 15, 2018 prison call, Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Kristy talk about family, Mia's prom, the weather, and everyday life before the conversation takes a much more interesting turn. Gypsy tells Kristy that she had recently become “really, really tired of people talking about me.” She says that even when she went into the chow hall to eat, other women would stare at her and talk about her. Eventually, she says she became angry enough that she went back and destroyed much of what she had saved about her own case. Gypsy says she had kept copies of newspaper articles, but decided to shred them. Her explanation is one of the strongest statements in the call: “I’m not that girl anymore. I don’t wanna be that girl anymore. I’m done.” Interestingly, Gypsy says she destroyed everything she had saved except Michelle Dean's article. This comes just one day after Gypsy and Kristy discussed the upcoming Investigation Discovery documentary “Gypsy's Revenge.” Gypsy mentions the documentary again in this call, saying she still doesn't know when it will air. Gypsy says she's actually thankful that the women incarcerated with her won't be able to watch it because they don't have the channel. According to Gypsy, people inside the prison are still talking about her Dr. Phil and 20/20 appearances. She says some women have given her dirty looks, and she wishes they would simply say something to her instead of staring: “Just tell me if you got something to tell me, tell me. But, like, quit looking at me sideways.” Earlier in the call, Kristy tells Gypsy about Mia's prom and the pictures that were taken. Gypsy is excited to see them and discusses how many photographs Kristy can send her at once. Gypsy also asks Kristy to text Ken and tell him that she plans to call him that evening at around 7 his time. This is a relatively short call, but the final few minutes give an interesting look at how Gypsy described dealing with the attention surrounding her case while incarcerated. #GypsyRoseBlanchard #GypsyRose #KristyBlanchard #PrisonCalls #TheBlanchardFiles #TrueCrime #PrisonAudio #MichelleDean #DrPhil #2020 #DeeDeeBlanchard #TrueCrimeCommunity
