This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

June 2, 2018. Gypsy Rose Blanchard has just finished her final visit with Rod and Kristy, and Ken Urker's own visit is now only days away. Gypsy tells Ken that her family spent part of their visit talking about him, which led to a hilarious exchange when Rod started asking Gypsy some pretty basic questions about her boyfriend. Does Ken hunt? Gypsy doesn't know. Does he fish? She doesn't know that either. Does he play guitar? Finally, one she can answer. Gypsy insists, “I know the deep stuff, okay?” But when Rod hugs her goodbye, Gypsy says he leaves her with one final piece of advice: “Learn something about your boyfriend.” Ken then fills Gypsy in on the answers while telling her how excited he is for his own upcoming trip. He's already packed, his flight is approaching, and he tells Gypsy he can't wait to see her. This is a much lighter call than some of the others we've heard, but it gives us another glimpse into Rod's thoughts about Ken just days before Ken and Gypsy are finally scheduled to have their extended visit. The statements and opinions heard in these recordings belong to the individuals speaking.
