This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

In this April 27, 2018 call, Gypsy Rose Blanchard tells Kristy exactly what happened between her and Ken during their emotional conversations over the previous two days, but she also reveals that problems inside her room had contributed to her stress before she ever called him. Gypsy explains that her anxiety and stress had been high because of problems with her roommates. She says she initially felt excluded from their conversations, and eventually things reached a breaking point where everyone sat down and addressed their issues with one another. Then Gypsy gets extremely personal. She explains that while she was on her period, she'd had an accident and didn't know the proper way to clean the stain from her underwear. She tells Kristy: “I always wear pull-ups at home.” According to Gypsy, her roommates initially became upset about how she handled it, but eventually explained that they weren't trying to be mean and wanted to teach her how to better care for herself. “I understand that you don't know how to do these things, and that's why we wanna help teach you.” Kristy then gives Gypsy a very detailed explanation of using tampons. Gypsy says all of this happened Wednesday morning. Then she had a stressful afternoon taking pictures at her new job, followed by the call with Ken that night. Gypsy explains the 04/25 Ken call Gypsy tells Kristy she wanted to communicate with Ken about two things. First, she wanted them to talk more than once a week. She explains that she doesn't like randomly calling Ken because she's afraid she'll interrupt him at work or while he's doing something important. Ken had reassured her that she would never be a burden and that if he couldn't talk, he'd simply tell her when to call back. The second issue was Ken's move. Gypsy says that when Ken visited, he told her the move would probably happen within three or four weeks. But: “He's been saying that for like five months now.” She tells Kristy that every time Ken gives her a new timeline, she gets her hopes up: “It's hard on me because I keep thinking that every next month... you're gonna move.” Kristy then explains some of the expenses Gypsy may not have considered, including rent, deposits, utilities, transportation and other costs associated with moving. She tells Kristy about the “other dude” comment Gypsy then tells Kristy about the comment that hurt Ken: “I get lonely and I can call another dude, but instead I'm being faithful to you and waiting till you have a day off to call you.” She says Ken went quiet after she said it and she could immediately tell she'd caught him off guard. Kristy brings up Robert and Sebastian while discussing why Ken might feel insecure. Gypsy says that she and Ken had also spent months joking about all the fan mail and men who wrote her, but she now realizes the joke had gone on long enough that Ken might genuinely wonder whether there was truth behind it. Gypsy tells Kristy: “I've been faithful to you for the last seven months that we've been together.” She says she's been throwing away letters from men who hit on her. “Mark from Michigan” comes up again 😂 Gypsy also tells Kristy about the fake guy she invented during the 04/25 call. She says Ken actually believed there was a 29-year-old man named Mark: “I made all that shit up on the spot.” Kristy points out that Ken has pranked Gypsy before too. But Gypsy explains that underneath all of this, there was a real concern: “All I was being was I was missing him.” And then she reveals the question she was really asking herself about Ken: “Are you truly gonna move here?
