This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

In this April 25, 2018 call, Gypsy Rose Blanchard talks with Kristy about finally getting behind the camera at her new prison job, the new pictures being sent around, Ken's upcoming move and plans for Rod to visit Missouri. Gypsy tells Kristy that she was finally allowed to start taking pictures of the other women that day and jokes: “I'm not a half bad photographer.” Interestingly, Gypsy says she prefers one of the cameras because it's similar to the camera Dee Dee had, so she already knows how to use its settings. She also says the notoriously grainy visiting-room camera has finally been repaired, meaning future visitation pictures should hopefully be clearer. The conversation then turns to the pictures Gypsy has been sending out. Kristy confirms Ken received his picture, and later Gypsy gives Kristy permission to publicly post another picture she had sent Ken, the one showing Gypsy with a dog. There's also a direct connection to the Rachel call from earlier that same day. Gypsy tells Kristy: “I just got off the phone with Rachel probably about 30 minutes ago.” Later, the conversation turns toward Rod coming home and potentially visiting Gypsy. Gypsy and Kristy discuss figuring out the cheapest transportation to Missouri. Gypsy says that once Ken gets settled into his apartment, he has talked about letting Kristy and Rod stay at his place so they wouldn't have to pay for a hotel. Gypsy says she'll talk to Ken that night to get a better idea of when he's actually making the move and then they can start figuring out the plan from there. The call ends with Gypsy preparing for a very busy day at her new job. She says all three housing units are scheduled for picture day: “All three houses are gonna be showing up for pictures.
