This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

On June 25, 2018, Gypsy Rose Blanchard makes two calls, first to her sister Mia, followed by a longer conversation with Kristy Blanchard. The first call is a quick birthday call to Mia. Gypsy opens with “Happy birthday, sis!” Mia says she's outside tanning and that the family is going out to eat later. She also tells Gypsy that she celebrated the previous day with friends in New Orleans. Gypsy wishes her a happy birthday, tells her she loves her, and says she'll probably call Kristy later. That's exactly what she does. During the second call, Gypsy tells Kristy she already spoke with “the birthday girl.” Kristy talks about Mia's birthday plans, including picking up her cake and taking it to the restaurant before dinner. They also talk about the family's recent trip to New Orleans and the extreme summer heat before the conversation eventually returns to something much more relevant to the previous calls: Jenner and 20/20. Gypsy tells Kristy that she called Jenner the previous day but needs to call her again because Jenner was on a golf course and couldn't really talk. Gypsy says: “I’m probably gonna call her at around like six.” Kristy responds that “the news never stops with them.” This call also confirms something important about Jenner. Kristy explicitly says: “Since she works for 20/20...” Kristy reassures Gypsy that Jenner is probably only going to ask follow-up questions and tells her it shouldn't be anything that makes Gypsy uncomfortable answering. Gypsy explains that Jenner had already asked how she was doing. Gypsy told her about completing her class and the possibility that she might eventually help facilitate it. Kristy says Jenner was “so excited” to hear about that. Kristy then reveals that she also told Jenner about Kirk, her newly discovered brother, and says Jenner was excited about that development too. The conversation returns to 20/20 and Lifetime, with Kristy discussing the possibility of the 20/20 program being shown again on Lifetime and telling family members to record it. Near the end, Kristy asks Gypsy for a copy of the letter she wrote for her class so Kristy can preserve it with the other material she's collected since everything happened. Gypsy says she may actually send Kristy the original, explaining that the class already made its own copy for use in future classes. #GypsyRoseBlanchard #GypsyRose #MiaBlanchard #KristyBlanchard #JennerSmith #KenUrker #DeeDeeBlanchard #GypsyRoseCase #GypsyRoseCalls #2020ABC #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity #TrueCrimeYouTube #TrueCrimeAudio #TheBlanchardFiles
