This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

On July 7, 2018, Gypsy Rose Blanchard makes a brief recorded call to Sebastian from the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. Gypsy opens by asking Sebastian whether he has received the letter she recently mailed him. Sebastian explains that he hasn't been home because he's been staying at his sister's house, so he hasn't checked for it. Gypsy tells him she wrote the letter after their July 4 conversation and mailed it the following morning, July 5. With prison count time approaching, Gypsy explains that she doesn't have much time to talk. But before ending the call, she makes sure Sebastian knows why she called. “I was just giving you a little call to say I love you.” Sebastian responds by telling her he loves her too. Gypsy promises to call again Monday to see whether the letter arrived. It's a short exchange, but it adds another piece to the timeline of Gypsy's relationships and correspondence during July 2018. On this same date, Gypsy also spoke with Ken Urker, reassuring him that she loved him and that he was doing nothing wrong in their relationship.
