This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

In this June 15, 2018 call, Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker talk about everything from their future together to Gypsy realizing that the date marks exactly three years since her arrest. Gypsy walks Ken through what she remembers about being extradited from Wisconsin back to Missouri. She describes being transported while handcuffed and shackled, falling while trying to get into the transport van, stopping at McDonald’s, traveling through Minnesota, and eventually arriving back in Missouri. She even remembers the song playing during the trip. The conversation also circles back to what happened during Ken's recent visit. Gypsy says she has been “on pins and needles” because she still worries she could get in trouble over what happened, although several days had passed without further consequences. Ken tells her that is one reason he wants her to call every day, so he knows she hasn't gotten into more trouble. Ken also gets serious with Gypsy about her education and upcoming parole board. He encourages her to focus on school, finish her GED and build up accomplishments that will eventually be reviewed by the board. Gypsy admits she has gotten burned out and stopped keeping up with some assignments, while explaining that math is especially difficult for her. They also talk about marriage and last names. After Ken gets annoyed that a support group changed the spelling of Gypsy's last name, they joke about simply getting married and changing it. Gypsy explains that she actually hands out marriage applications as part of her chapel work. There are also plenty of lighter moments about future pets, football games, living together, Ken moving, and what they imagine their lives looking like once Gypsy is released. #GypsyRoseBlanchard #GypsyRose #KenUrker #GypsyAndKen #PrisonCalls #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity #TrueCrimeYouTube #MissouriDOC #GypsyRoseCase #TrueCrimeAudio #TrueCrimeDiscussion #CrimeDocumentary #TrueCrimeHistory #BlanchardCase
