This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

On July 10, 2018, Gypsy Rose Blanchard calls Bryan Golden with some exciting news: he's officially been approved to visit her at the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. The two begin discussing possible dates for Bryan to travel to Missouri, including the possibility of arranging a special visit. Gypsy explains that she recently had a special visit and needs to check with her caseworker about when another one will be allowed. They also discuss prison food, outside food deliveries, and Bryan's own experiences with incarceration. But the conversation eventually takes a much more personal turn. As Gypsy approaches her 27th birthday, she worries about her age, parole eligibility, and whether she'll still be able to have children after her release. Gypsy tells Bryan that having a baby is one of her biggest priorities, even saying she doesn't care who the father is. Bryan immediately pushes back, warning her not to rush into having a child with the wrong person. Then he makes an unexpected offer. “I'll be that guy if you wanna pick me.” The conversation continues with the two discussing where to meet potential romantic partners, their experiences at comic conventions, and an unusual charity auction Gypsy recalls from a convention she attended. Eventually, Gypsy reveals something she says very few people know about her. She tells Bryan that she's never been drunk, has never driven a car, and has never experienced an orgasm. That admission leads to an extended and sexually explicit discussion about her experiences with Nick Godejohn. Gypsy describes their encounters as awkward and disappointing, while Bryan becomes increasingly flirtatious and suggests he would like the opportunity to give her a different experience. The two also discuss Bryan's appearance, his longer hairstyle, and photographs they've exchanged. Later, they return to the realities of incarceration, including disciplinary segregation, parole restrictions, and Bryan's own experiences dealing with probation officers. Before ending the conversation, Bryan once again confirms that Gypsy wants him to visit. She says yes and promises to check with her caseworker about arranging the visit. This call is especially interesting when placed alongside Gypsy's July 6 conversation with Bryan, when she admitted she was afraid to cheat and discussed a potential visit that Ken Urker didn't know about. By July 10, Bryan is officially on her approved visitor list, and their conversations have become increasingly intimate. Was this simply flirtatious conversation between friends, or were the boundaries of Gypsy's relationship with Ken becoming increasingly blurred? Listen to the recording and decide for yourself.
