This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

In this April 11, 2018 prison call, Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker talk about their relationship and Ken’s increasingly serious plans to move from Seattle to Missouri. Ken tells Gypsy that he received a call about a bartending job at Ameristar in the Kansas City area. He says he has already had a phone interview, another interview is expected, and he believes the opportunity will be waiting for him once he gets to Missouri. He has also been looking at Liberty, Missouri as a possible place to live. Ken says it seems ideal because it is not too far from Gypsy, not too far from the potential job, and not too expensive. To Ken, everything is starting to come together: “It’s all, like, falling into place, babe.” Gypsy is clearly ready for him to make the move. When Ken talks about feeling out of place back home, Gypsy tells him: “You need to go. You need to come here.” They begin discussing when they might see each other again and tentatively look at May. Ken tells Gypsy that once he gets to Missouri, he plans to visit her at the very first opportunity. If he moves on a Thursday, he says he'll be there Friday morning. If he arrives Friday night, he'll come Saturday. Gypsy also reveals that she has now told her dad, Rod, about Ken's plans. According to Gypsy, when she told Rod that Ken was moving to the Kansas City area, Rod responded that he hadn't known. The conversation also gives another update on Tanya “Angel.” Gypsy confirms that she has only visited with Angel once, but says Angel wants to come back. Rather than saying she doesn't want another visit, Gypsy says she told Angel that she would let her know which Friday would work. This is another interesting piece of the timeline following their first face-to-face meeting. As of April 11, Gypsy is still open to seeing Angel again. Ken and Gypsy also joke about working out together someday, revisit their previous visitation violation for kissing, and wonder whether they'll once again be assigned Table 11, the table they believe officers intentionally use to keep a closer eye on them. Toward the end of the call, Ken admits he's tired of waiting. After already spending six months unable to visit Gypsy, he says he wants everything to happen immediately: “I wanna be moving there tomorrow and getting my car back tomorrow, in my apartment tomorrow and starting my job tomorrow.
