This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

June 9, 2018. Ken Urker and Gypsy Rose Blanchard are spending another full day together, but their affection during the prison visits may already be pushing the limits. This recording contains three separate calls between Gypsy and Ken, including two calls immediately before their visits and a lengthy conversation afterward. Before one visit, Gypsy asks Ken if he's going to “be good this time.” Ken promises he will, but when he asks Gypsy the same question, she jokingly responds, “No promises.” Afterward, Ken admits just how difficult following the rules has become. “I wanna break every fucking rule in that fucking rule book.” Later, Ken reveals that he believes he's already on “thin ice” and says he's been warned about touching Gypsy's hair, back, knee and arms. Ken says he knows they need to be careful because he cannot risk losing visitation with Gypsy for another six months. The call also takes a much more personal turn when Gypsy opens up about an insecurity involving her teeth and admits she initially wanted to lie when Ken asked her about it. Ken also describes allowing Gypsy to see a deeply vulnerable part of his own past. By the end of the conversation, they're no longer simply talking about being boyfriend and girlfriend. Gypsy tells Ken: “I want you as my life partner.” Ken agrees and tells her: “I want you forever.” With only one more day of this visit remaining, their relationship appears to be moving very quickly, both physically and emotionally.
