This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

After Kristy spent the previous two days arranging contact between Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ms. Jenner, Gypsy finally makes the call on June 24, 2018. Ms. Jenner tells Gypsy she had missed an earlier call because she was in Nashville, Tennessee with her family and had her phone on silent. Gypsy jokes that she's the type of person who will simply call back if someone doesn't answer. Gypsy gives Ms. Jenner an update on what she's been doing. She says she recently graduated from her ICVC class and has now completed all three of her mandatory classes. Gypsy describes ICVC as emotionally draining and says it required so much of her attention that she temporarily put more of her focus there. Now that she's finished, she says she can concentrate more heavily on school again. Ms. Jenner reveals that she has already been talking with Kristy about Gypsy's progress. According to Jenner, Kristy told her how proud she was of Gypsy and discussed the class that required Gypsy to reflect on everything that had happened. Ms. Jenner also knows about the possibility of Gypsy eventually becoming a facilitator for the class. Gypsy clarifies that Mr. Anderson told her she did very well and would “put in a good word” for her. But just as Jenner appears ready to ask Gypsy something, she stops. She's riding on a golf cart in a rural part of Tennessee, her service is spotty, and she's having trouble hearing Gypsy. She asks whether Gypsy can call again in about 20 minutes or the following day.
