This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

On July 8, 2018, Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker have a lengthy series of recorded conversations covering their future together, Nick Godejohn, relationship boundaries, and some surprisingly intimate subjects. Gypsy begins by telling Ken she's worried about something she heard from another incarcerated woman. She fears Louisiana and Alabama may prevent people with felony convictions from returning to those states. Ken reassures her, and Gypsy explains that her biggest concern is being able to visit her parents after her release. The conversation eventually turns to Nick Godejohn and his upcoming trial. Ken discusses a news article about Nick's dissatisfaction with his public defender. Gypsy then reveals details about how she and Nick communicated while they were being held at the Greene County Jail. According to Gypsy, they sometimes spoke through adjoining holding-cell doors, exchanged messages, and wrote to one another on walls despite a no-contact order. She also recounts an incident involving a message reading “To Bonnie from Clyde” that contributed to disciplinary consequences. Gypsy discusses her changing feelings toward Nick and explains how she eventually stopped communicating with him. Later, she tells Ken about a woman named Courtney whom she jokingly calls her girlfriend to discourage unwanted attention from other women. The conversation becomes increasingly personal as Gypsy and Ken discuss sexual fantasies, unusual fetishes, movies, and their future together. Gypsy also talks about her mother's death and her feelings about potentially returning to the house where Dee Dee Blanchard was killed. But one of the most significant moments comes when Gypsy asks Ken what behavior he absolutely cannot stand in a relationship. His answer? LYING. Ken explains that dishonesty and deception would make him extremely angry, especially if he discovered that his girlfriend had concealed something important. That statement becomes particularly interesting when placed alongside Gypsy's July 6, 2018 conversation with Bryan Golden, in which she admitted she was afraid to cheat and discussed a possible visit Ken didn't know about. Ken also reassures Gypsy that her past does not change how he feels about her, while Gypsy discusses her concerns about what he might hear during Nick's trial. Throughout the recording, the couple repeatedly profess their love, discuss living together after her release, and imagine what their future might look like. The recording ends with Gypsy talking about keeping Ken's letters because they still smell like his cologne. What do you make of Ken's comments about honesty, considering the conversations Gypsy was having with Bryan at the same time?
