This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

On June 24, 2018, Gypsy Rose Blanchard makes two calls, first to Ken Urker, followed by a conversation with Marcia. The call with Ken starts casually. Gypsy is watching Jurassic World, while Ken talks about recently seeing the sequel and gives his less-than-impressed opinion of the movie. Ken explains that he had to work that Sunday because Seattle's Pride celebration had made things extremely busy. He also tells Gypsy about an explicit question someone asked him during the day. The call is cut short when Ken asks Gypsy to call him back in about 30 minutes. The second call is with Marcia. Gypsy tells Marcia she's planning to call Ken at 9:00. Marcia is trying to get an address so she can finally mail Gypsy some pictures. Gypsy then gives Marcia an update about completing ICVC and receiving her certificate. She says the class was difficult and there were portions that frustrated her, but she pushed through because she genuinely wanted to get something out of the experience. “I feel like I accomplished something.” Gypsy says she didn't want it to be “just a stupid class” and felt that she actually took something meaningful away from it. Then the conversation turns back to Ken and their recent visit. Gypsy tells Marcia: “He almost got us in trouble again.” Marcia initially thinks Gypsy is saying they actually got in trouble, but Gypsy corrects her and says they “damn near almost” did. Gypsy says she warned Ken: “If you do not cool your shit...” She makes clear that she wasn't actually in trouble, but says they could have been. Marcia responds that Ken could eventually get banned, and Gypsy agrees.
