This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

June 5, 2018. Ken Urker is officially just TWO DAYS away from seeing Gypsy Rose Blanchard. In this short prison call, the anticipation surrounding Ken's upcoming visit is reaching its peak. Ken tells Gypsy he'll be there Friday morning and repeatedly says how excited he is to finally see her. He has also received a letter from Gypsy that day, prompting him to tell her just how strongly he feels about her. “I’m so in love with you.” Ken tells Gypsy he can't wait to hold her hands again and says he could simply stare at her for hours. They even begin planning exactly what they're going to do when they first see each other. Ken jokes about wanting to pick Gypsy up, which she quickly tells him he can't do, and the two discuss how they're supposed to greet one another during the visit. Ken plans to fly in Thursday night, land around midnight and then get up early Friday morning to finally see Gypsy. After weeks of conversations about Ken's move, Gypsy's concerns about their future, the secret special-visitation situation and the countdown to seeing each other, the visit is now only two days away.
