This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

June 11, 2018. One day after Ken Urker's three-day visit with Gypsy Rose Blanchard ends, we're hearing the immediate aftermath in two separate calls. CALL #1: KRISTY Gypsy calls Kristy while Kristy and Rod are heading to the airport. Gypsy needs help completing an assignment for her class and asks Kristy to look up population numbers for two Louisiana communities. Gypsy also reveals she's completed her homework, a “ripple effect” drawing and what she calls her “victims list.” She still has a letter to finish before the assignment is complete. CALL #2: KEN Ken has officially made it back to Seattle after spending approximately 24 hours with Gypsy over three days. And they're already struggling with being apart. Ken tells Gypsy how much he misses her, but Gypsy reveals something even more interesting. She says she slept cuddling her own khaki shirt because it still smelled like Ken. Ken then jokes that he has her “haircut,” but unfortunately can't cuddle with that. The conversation becomes more serious when Ken talks about returning to Seattle and immediately feeling like he doesn't belong there anymore. “This is not where I'm supposed to be right now.” Ken once again tells Gypsy he plans to return soon. After weeks of anticipation, three days together and an emotional goodbye, this is the first glimpse at what happens when Gypsy and Ken return to their normal lives after the visit.
