This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

On July 12, 2018, Gypsy Rose Blanchard calls Sebastian from the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri, and the conversation takes a revealing turn. Gypsy begins by telling Sebastian about a stressful couple of days working in the prison photography department. She explains that some incarcerated women tried to get their pictures taken without purchasing the required tickets. One woman allegedly convinced Gypsy that another employee had approved the photograph, leaving Gypsy in an uncomfortable position with her coworker. Thankfully, Gypsy says her supervisor was understanding and she kept her job. The conversation then turns to a letter Gypsy recently mailed Sebastian. Sebastian confirms he received it. Gypsy asks whether he has moved yet and encourages him to speak with his probation or parole officer about obtaining permission to visit her. Sebastian explains that he still has outstanding warrants and doesn't want to submit a visitation application until his legal problems are resolved. Gypsy says she's willing to wait because she genuinely wants to see him in person. Then she explains the meaning behind the letter. Gypsy admits that she still has residual romantic feelings for Sebastian, even though she's currently in a relationship with someone else. She says she's trying to respect the boundaries of her relationship while maintaining her friendship with Sebastian. But she also makes her intentions for the future clear. If her current relationship doesn't work out, Gypsy says she would love for her and Sebastian to give their relationship another chance after her release. Sebastian responds that he already told her where he stands on that possibility. The two also discuss Sebastian's living situation, his efforts to resolve outstanding legal matters, and his inability to see his son in person. Gypsy encourages Sebastian not to give up on improving his circumstances or pursuing a relationship with his child. Later, Gypsy discusses potentially becoming a facilitator for a prison class and explains that she's been struggling to keep up with correspondence since becoming involved in multiple programs and her photography job. She recalls receiving large amounts of mail after the HBO documentary about her case was released. The conversation ends with the two discussing letters, handmade cards, and prison mail restrictions before agreeing to speak again the following day. What makes this July 12 conversation particularly interesting is its place in the larger timeline. On July 6, Gypsy told Bryan Golden she was afraid to cheat on Ken and discussed a possible visit Ken didn't know about. On July 10, Bryan was approved to visit, and their conversation became increasingly intimate. Now, on July 12, Gypsy is telling Sebastian she still has feelings for him and wants another chance if things don't work out with Ken. Is Gypsy simply keeping her options open, or are these conversations crossing the relationship boundaries she claims she's trying to respect? Listen to the recording and decide for yourself.
