This playlist documents an entire year of Gypsy Rose Blanchard's prison phone calls from 2018, organized chronologically so you can follow the conversations and events as they unfolded in real time. Throughout the year, you'll hear Gypsy's conversations with Kristy and Rod Blanchard, Ken Urker, family members, friends, supporters, and others in her life while she was incarcerated at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. These calls cover everything from ordinary day-to-day prison life and family updates to relationships, money, media coverage, documentaries, her criminal case, Dee Dee Blanchard, Nicholas Godejohn, future plans, and the public attention surrounding her story. Some calls are uneventful. Others contain details that become much more significant when viewed alongside later interviews, documentaries, public statements, and other records. Rather than focusing only on selected clips, this series is intended to preserve the larger context of the 2018 calls and allow viewers to hear how conversations, relationships, and stories developed throughout the year. The calls are presented chronologically, beginning in January 2018 and continuing through December 2018. Prison call recordings were obtained through a public-records request from the Missouri Department of Corrections and are being shared for commentary, documentation, research, and educational purposes.

In this May 27, 2018 call between Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker, the couple gets into a surprisingly serious conversation about Ken's planned move to Missouri and whether he should reconsider. The call initially focuses on their upcoming visit. Gypsy reveals that she chose to request the special visitation time for Ken instead of Kristy and Rod, telling him she weighed the pros and cons and ultimately asked herself who she wanted to spend the most time with: “Who do I wanna spend time with the most? And so I picked you.” Gypsy also reveals something lighter but interesting about her prison life. She says she's developed a new persona and people have started calling her: “Jersey.” Ken is genuinely surprised, while Gypsy explains that the nickname simply stuck. The conversation eventually turns serious when Ken jokingly claims he's heard “through the grapevine” that Gypsy doesn't love him anymore. Gypsy assures him that's not what she's been thinking. Instead, she's questioning his move. Gypsy tells Ken that part of her still wants him in Missouri, but another part wonders whether he should return to Austin, Texas, reconnect with his mother, and wait for Gypsy to eventually join him there after her release. Ken immediately rejects the idea. He tells Gypsy: “You're too fucking important to me to do it that way.” Ken says he would rather live near the prison so he can visit whenever possible than remain in Texas and have to plan expensive trips across the country. Gypsy explains that she isn't trying to talk him out of moving. She's trying to think “in a non selfish way” because she doesn't want to prevent Ken from reconnecting with his family. Then Gypsy proposes something even bigger: “Let's just postpone it a little bit.” She suggests waiting six months before Ken actually moves so they can make sure about the relationship. Ken isn't interested. He points out they've already been together for approximately nine months and says: “There's really not much more feeling out.” When Gypsy continues explaining that she doesn't want him rushing into something he'll regret, Ken tells her: “You're breaking my heart.” Gypsy immediately reassures him that she loves him and wants him there. She says she simply wants to make sure moving is something he truly wants. Ken ultimately tells Gypsy he's “a hundred percent sure,” says everyone in his life already knows he's moving, and says the only thing that could stop him is Gypsy no longer wanting him there. Gypsy responds: “That's not gonna change.” #GypsyRoseBlanchard #GypsyRose #KenUrker #KristyBlanchard #RodBlanchard #GypsyAndKen #GypsyRosePrisonCalls #PrisonPhoneCalls #PrisonCalls #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity #TrueCrimeYouTube #FOIA #TheBlanchardFiles #TrueCrimeDocumentary
