I don't know how to talk to women anymore. And the strange part is it's not because I've never been around them. I spent eight years living with a woman. Her friends were always over. I grew up close with my mom and my sister. So it's not like I came from some bubble where I never learned how to be around women. But somewhere along the way I just lost it. I stopped being able to do it. Now if I end up in a conversation out in public, walking my dog or whatever, it stays at small talk and I have no idea how to take it any further. It feels like there's a line and if I cross it I'm doing something wrong. You hear it for years. Don't approach. Don't bother them. Wait for them to come to you. But then they don't come to you either. So you just stop trying. And it happens so quietly you don't even notice it happening. Then there's the other side of it. The videos online ruining some guy's whole life for trying to say hi. The apps where you're supposed to be funny and smart and good looking and have it all figured out. I might be a few of those things. I'm not all of them. And honestly, neither is anyone else. I don't think I forgot how to talk to women. I think I was taught to be afraid to. And I'm not really sure how to undo that. Do you feel this too? Let me know down below. If this hit something, subscribe and stick around.
