I stopped caring about a lot of things, and I didn't even notice it happening. There was no big moment. No date on the calendar. I just woke up one day and the patience was gone. Somewhere in there, people started feeling like interruptions instead of people. Someone reaching out started to feel like one more thing on the list instead of something good. Even the stuff that used to be an escape stopped working the same way. Used to be I could disappear into a movie for a couple hours and forget everything. Now even that feels like it's gone. Part of it is the math too. Everything costs more, saving feels pointless, and you're told it'll work out even when it clearly isn't adding up. Hard to keep caring about a plan that doesn't make sense anymore. I don't think something's wrong with me. I think I just got worn down until there wasn't much room left. I didn't go cold. I just went small. I still care — I just had to shrink it down to almost nothing, because caring about everything costs too much when you're already running on empty.
