I don't recognize the person I've become. I look in the mirror some days and I don't know who's looking back. It happened slow. So slow I didn't even notice. There wasn't one day where it changed. I just woke up one morning and the guy I used to be was gone. I used to care about things. I used to want things. I had this fire in me. Somewhere along the way it just went out and I can't tell you when. I got harder. Quieter. I stopped reaching out. I stopped trying. And the worst part is I let it happen. Nobody did this to me. Life just kept chipping away and I kept letting it. I think a lot of us are walking around like this. Strangers to ourselves. Doing the same things every day, going through the motions, slowly turning into someone we never planned on being. I don't have an answer for it. I'm not gonna sit here and tell you how to fix it because I haven't figured it out either. I just know I'm not the only one who feels like this.
