I want to check out of society. Some days there's nothing to do at work and I still have to stand there all day. That's when I start thinking about land. That's the part that gets me. Not the hard days. The empty ones. Hours of my actual life spent on nothing, just so the clock says I was there. You don't get those hours back. On my own piece of land, every hour would be worth something. You do the thing and the thing exists. No standing around waiting for the day to end. I'd grow my own food, and I'd know where it came from because I put it in the ground myself. I think I'd be healthier. I think I'd feel better. That's the honest reason. And it's the same loop every week. Earn it, hand it over, go back in tomorrow and do it again. Nothing adds up. Nothing's left standing at the end of the year. I don't know if I'd actually do it. Maybe I'd hate it. It's probably harder than I think. But I think about it every single day, and that has to mean something. You don't daydream about leaving a life that's working.
