Currently Playing: Everything I Grew Up With Is Gone

Everything I grew up with is gone and I don't think anybody else noticed it leave. Not changed. Gone. The barbecues, the potlucks, the beach packed with people. A group of us in one place actually talking to each other. That was just normal. Now everybody's in the same room with their heads down in a phone. The shows I watched got hollowed out. The food I grew up on doesn't sit right with me anymore. Even the way things look feels different, like somebody turned the color down on all of it. I can't explain that one properly, I just know it's true. But the part that gets me isn't the stuff being gone. It's that nobody around me seems to miss any of it. Everybody adapted and moved on and I'm still standing here looking at the space where it used to be. I didn't move to a different world. It moved out from under me.
