I pay for healthcare and still get nothing, and I don't think most people realize that's how it works. Everyone assumes it's free up here. It isn't. It comes off my cheque every month, adds up to a couple grand a year, and I still waited over a year for one MRI. No follow-up, nobody checking in. If you're not on top of your own file, you just fall off the list. So I ended up paying out of pocket on top of what I already pay, just to get someone to actually listen. And while you wait, the small thing you went in for turns into a bigger one. I'm not against any of it. I waited a year and got worse in the meantime. That's all.
