On the 213th day, I visited the Giza Pyramid complex, which always amazes visitors because it is difficult to imagine that this magnificent building was built almost 5000 years ago without modern technology. My arrival was greeted by camels, who were forced to take visitors around the pyramid complex. Besides camels, local hustlers offered horses or horse-drawn carriages to get around this relatively large complex. I decided to walk. Entering from the south entrance, after passing the Valley Temple of Khafre, The Great Sphinx, a statue carved from stone with a human face and the body of a lion, welcomes me. Allegedly, the face of the sphinx was carved to resemble the face of Khafre, king of the 4th dynasty in Egypt from the 26th century BC. In the past, the sphinx was buried in sand up to its neck so that only its head was visible. Currently, the body has been excavated. Yet, fences keep away visitors from approaching near. I continued walking towards the largest pyramid and explored one of the nearby tombs. When I came out, I was at the foot of The Great Pyramid of Giza (Pyramid of Khufu), the tallest building in the world whose record stood for almost 4000 years. In the past, many visitors came to climb to the top. Nowadays, this is no longer allowed. Therefore, I continued to visit the Pyramid of Khafre, which was only a few meters lower than the Great Pyramid. However, from a distance, this pyramid looks taller because it was built on a higher ground. Unlike other pyramids, the Pyramid of Khafre still has smooth cladding at the top. Lastly, I visited the third pyramid, the Pyramid of Menkaure, which is less than half the height of the previous two pyramids. I enjoyed looking at this world's wonder until sunset. Then, I returned to my accommodation in Giza. On the next excursion, I will visit Saqqara, the cradle of pyramid-building techniques. ___ Stage 1 Route - Sumatra (DONE!): Jakarta - Bandar Lampung - Baturaja - Lahat - Pagar Alam - Bengkulu - Lebong Tandai - Kerinci - Jambi - Kuala Tungkal - Batam - Johor Bahru Stage 2 Route - ASEAN Mainland (DONE!): Johor Bahru - Kuala Tahan - Kota Bharu - Su-Ngai Kolok - Nakhon Si Thammarat - Chaiya - Nakhon Pathom - Bangkok - Nakhon Ratchasima - Phimai - Nong Khai - Vientiane - Vang Vieng - Luang Prabang - Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai - Pai - Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai - Boten - Kunming, China Stage 3 Route - China (DONE!): Kunming - Dali - Lijiang - Shangri-La - Shambala - Litang - Chengdu - Leshan - Chengdu - Xi'an - Zhangye - Jiayuguan - Dunhuang - Turpan - Urumqi - Almaty, Kazakhstan Stage 4 Route - Central Asia (DONE!): Almaty - Shymkent - Tashkent - Nukus - Muynak - Turtkul - Khiva - Bukhara - Samarkand - Tashkent - Khujand - Fann Mountains - Dushanbe - Kunduz, Afghanistan Stage 5 Route - Afghanistan (DONE!): Kunduz - Samangan - Mazar-i-Sharif - Balkh - Kabul - Bamiyan - Band-e Amir - Yakawlang - Lal - Chagcharan - Herat - Mashhad, Iran Stage 6 Route - Iran (DONE): Mashhad - Tehran - Isfahan - Persepolis - Shiraz - Ahvaz - Shalamcheh Border - Shushtar - Shush - Bandar Abbas - Sharjah, UAE Stage 7 Route - Arabian Peninsula (DONE): Sharjah - Dubai - Abu Dhabi - Riyadh - Jeddah - Madinah - AlUla - Hegra - Tabuk - Haql - Aqaba, Jordan Stage 8 Route - Jordan and Egypt: Aqaba - Wadi Rum - Petra - Amman - Jerash - Mount Nebo - Madaba - Dead Sea - Nuweiba - Giza - Cairo - Saqqara *Follow my Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/obeysianipar/) for direct messages **Message me for sponsorship --- Music Credits: And Awaken - Stings by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/. --- Chapters: 00:00 Prologue 00:52 Entering Pyramid of Giza Complex 02:22 Khafre Valley Temple and The Sphinx 07:24 The Great Pyramid of Giza 11:29 The Pyramid of Khafre 15:40 The Pyramid of Menkaure 18:41 Panoramic Viewpoint
