On the afternoon of the 145th day, I looked for a lift to continue my journey through the Hindu Kush Mountains to the west. From the somewhat remote Band-e Amir National Park, Duke and I got a lift from Charlie, a UK tourist who went with a guide and driver and still had a place for us. We got off on the main road and looked for another ride to Yakawlang, the end of the asphalt road from Kabul. At 3,000 meters above sea level and in the middle of the deserted Hindu Kush Mountains, I started to worry that we wouldn't be able to find a ride. I waited for an hour with the temperature continuing to drop to near freezing point. If I couldn't get a vehicle until evening, I don't know what will happen because I didn't bring a tent or sleeping bag. Luckily an hour later a vehicle passed by that was willing to transport us at local prices. We arrived in Yakawlang 1.5 hours later. There we got cheap accommodation (300 Afghani/ Rp. 60,000) for 2 people) which only provided mattresses and blankets. After storing my backpack, I continued to explore this small town in the middle of the Hindu Kush Mountains.
