On the 166th day I toured Shiraz to see the colors of this old capital of the Zand dynasty. Previously I thought the main color of this city was pink because I was fixated to the Pink Mosque. But actually, if you pay attention, the Pink Mosque also has a lot of colors in its decoration. The mosque's stained glass is not unique as it can be found at some bus stops. The rich color also appears in the clothing sold in traditional market in Shiraz. The spices sold there also showcase Shiraz' various colors. Handicraft in Shiraz also reflects the city's diversity from another angle. For example, the pendants sold in the market includes a Taoist pendant. There are not as many handicraft shops in Shiraz as there are in Isfahan, but they can be found at Saray-e Moshir near Vakil Bazaar, Shiraz's traditional market. Shiraz does not only provide visual beauty. Street performers in alleyways can play melodious musical instruments. I left the crowd and walked towards the Karim Khan Fort which displayed what was in my heart: "I Love Shiraz". I love many cities, including Shiraz. In the afternoon, I visited one of the biggest malls in Iran, Persian Gulf Mall. It contains department stores. Because the building is so big, the mall looks deserted, especially at the other end of the mall, as it's located 500 meters from the main entrance. To attract visitors to the end of the mall, there is a cinema there. Initially I wanted to watch a movie there, but it turned out that all the films were in Persian and most of them were local movies. If you look at the bright side, the government supports local studios. For tomorrow I planned to continue by bus to Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan, close to the Iraqi border. ___ Stage 1 Route - Sumatra (DONE!): Jakarta - Bandar Lampung - Baturaja - Lahat - Pagar Alam - Bengkulu - Lebong Tandai - Kerinci - Jambi - Kuala Tungkal - Batam - Johor Bahru Stage 2 Route - ASEAN Mainland (DONE!): Johor Bahru - Kuala Tahan - Kota Bharu - Su-Ngai Kolok - Nakhon Si Thammarat - Chaiya - Nakhon Pathom - Bangkok - Nakhon Ratchasima - Phimai - Nong Khai - Vientiane - Vang Vieng - Luang Prabang - Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai - Pai - Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai - Boten - Kunming, China Stage 3 Route - China (DONE!): Kunming - Dali - Lijiang - Shangri-La - Shambala - Litang - Chengdu - Leshan - Chengdu - Xi'an - Zhangye - Jiayuguan - Dunhuang - Turpan - Urumqi - Almaty, Kazakhstan Stage 4 Route - Central Asia (DONE!): Almaty - Shymkent - Tashkent - Nukus - Muynak - Turtkul - Khiva - Bukhara - Samarkand - Tashkent - Khujand - Fann Mountains - Dushanbe - Kunduz, Afghanistan Stage 5 Route - Afghanistan (DONE!): Kunduz - Samangan - Mazar-i-Sharif - Balkh - Kabul - Bamiyan - Band-e Amir - Yakawlang - Lal - Chagcharan - Herat - Mashhad, Iran Stage 6 Route - Iran: Mashhad - Tehran - Isfahan - Persepolis - Shiraz - Ahvaz - Shushtar - Shush - Shalamcheh Border - Bandar Abbas - Sharjah, UAE *Follow my Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/obeysianipar/) for direct messages **Message me for sponsorship --- Music Credits: And Awaken - Stings by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.
