On the 192nd day I tried wreck diving in the Gulf of Aqaba. Aqaba may not be the best place to enjoy its underwater beauty. Many say that the Red Sea on the Egyptian side has better marine life. Of course, I am sure that Indonesia's underwater beauty is much better. However Aqaba is known for wreck diving. There are several wrecks of ships and planes sunk in the Gulf of Aqaba. The Jordanian government even sunk more military vehicles to create an underwater military museum. Unfortunately, to enjoy this museum that offers underwater military formations, divers must be able to dive deeper than 20 meters. Even though I have Advance Diver certification, I wasn't confident so I followed the dive guide's advice to dive in other places that he thought were more interesting. My sister, Duke and I dived to the Cedar Pride, an 80 meter long ship that was sunk in the 1980s. This ship is very large and the inside can be explored. After diving, I continued snorkeling in The Tank, an anti-air tank that was sunk at a depth of 5 meters. The location is perfect for divers in the surrounding area to make a safety stop at this place. I enjoyed freediving around this tank. After I was satisfied with snorkeling, I went back to the accommodation. Two days later I received news saying that on the day I was diving, some missiles flew from Yemen and were shot down by Israel just right above me. The day after the diving, Duke's flight from Aqaba to Abu Dhabi was canceled because of this incident.
