On the 193rd day, I visited Wadi Rum, about 60 kilometers from Aqaba. To reach the number 2 tourist attraction in Jordan after Petra, I took a minibus for 3 dinars from the Aqaba bus terminal in the direction of Disah. When I arrived in Wadi Rum, the innkeeper Salah picked me up and drove me through the desert to his camp area. The accommodation cost of 14 dinars for two people included this transfer and breakfast. It was cheaper than living in a Mars capsule, which could be twice that. The Mars capsule is unique to Wadi Rum, offering a view similar to the surface of Mars. This exotic view is the shooting location for Hollywood films such as The Martian, Star Wars, and Dune. At 3 p.m., Salah dropped me at the train station to board the steam train, which was part of the show in Wadi Rum. The show took back the passengers to 1916 when the Arab Revolt occurred. Following history, the Arab rebels who fought for their independence ambushed the Hejaz Railway train belonging to the Turkish Ottomans. I think it was a great show and a must-see. The Jordan Pass includes this show. After the 40-minute train show, I continued on the 2-hour jeep tour. Salah took me to several places associated with Lawrence of Arabia, the British fighter who supported the Arab Revolt. I saw camel petroglyphs and real camels, which the Bedouin tribe in Wadi Rum still use. Finally, I enjoyed the sunset view of Wadi Rum before Salah dropped me back to my tent.
