On the 157th day I explored the city of Tehran to visit the former American Embassy in Tehran. Actually, there are many tourist attractions in Tehran, it's just that the entrance ticket is relatively expensive. For example, Golestan Palace, a palace from the Qajar era, sets the entrance ticket at 6,500,000 Rials or around $13. Therefore I chose to walk and enjoy the city of Tehran for free. Along the way I saw many shops selling Persian crafts. To the east of the city, I came to a wall that showcased a lot of American graffiti. This wall surrounds the former American embassy. In the yard there is an American flag torn by who knows who. I went into the embassy building which has now become a museum to investigate further. If it weren't for this place, maybe I would never have seen the inside of the American embassy building. This museum in Tehran displays the embassy building as it is. On the 2nd floor, which is the safest floor of the building, there is the American ambassador's office. In other rooms there are encryption machines and even machines for intercepting radio waves and communications. In fact, according to information in the museum, Iranian students who took over the embassy building during the Iranian Revolution in 1979 found evidence that embassy people faked Iranian passports and immigration stamps. They really thought that America was behind the modern imperialism that "colonized" Iran. On one of the walls of the room, graffiti by a student reads: "It is no longer the time for American imperialism in Iran." Evidence of American intelligence activities in this building led to the museum being called the "U.S. Den of Espionage". I don't really like big cities. Therefore next I would leave Tehran for Isfahan, Iran's artistic city. ___ Stage 1 Route - Sumatra (DONE!): Jakarta - Bandar Lampung - Baturaja - Lahat - Pagar Alam - Bengkulu - Lebong Tandai - Kerinci - Jambi - Kuala Tungkal - Batam - Johor Bahru Stage 2 Route - ASEAN Mainland (DONE!): Johor Bahru - Kuala Tahan - Kota Bharu - Su-Ngai Kolok - Nakhon Si Thammarat - Chaiya - Nakhon Pathom - Bangkok - Nakhon Ratchasima - Phimai - Nong Khai - Vientiane - Vang Vieng - Luang Prabang - Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai - Pai - Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai - Boten - Kunming, China Stage 3 Route - China (DONE!): Kunming - Dali - Lijiang - Shangri-La - Shambala - Litang - Chengdu - Leshan - Chengdu - Xi'an - Zhangye - Jiayuguan - Dunhuang - Turpan - Urumqi - Almaty, Kazakhstan Stage 4 Route - Central Asia (DONE!): Almaty - Shymkent - Tashkent - Nukus - Muynak - Turtkul - Khiva - Bukhara - Samarkand - Tashkent - Khujand - Fann Mountains - Dushanbe - Kunduz, Afghanistan Stage 5 Route - Afghanistan (DONE!): Kunduz - Samangan - Mazar-i-Sharif - Balkh - Kabul - Bamiyan - Band-e Amir - Yakawlang - Lal - Chagcharan - Herat - Mashhad, Iran Stage 6 Route - Iran: Mashhad - Tehran - Isfahan - Persepolis - Shiraz - Ahvaz - Shushtar - Shush - Shalamcheh Border - Bandar Abbas - Sharjah, UAE *Follow my Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/obeysianipar/) for direct messages **Message me for sponsorship --- Music Credits: And Awaken - Stings by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.
