On the afternoon of the 195th day, I explored Petra, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. I entered from the back door and started the journey from The Monastery, which is at the highest point of Petra and climbed down towards the center of Petra. In the city center, there are remains of several temples, royal tombs, and even a church from the Byzantine era. I enjoyed the architecture carved into the rock cliffs. Lastly, I visited the Treasury. The locals believed that this building held Pharaoh's treasures who they thought survived when the Red Sea closed again after the prophet Moses and the Israelites managed to pass through. I continued walking through the "siq" (canyon), which was once managed by the Nabataeans to bring water from Wadi Musa, Petra's water source. Petra Museum is in front of the visitor center and stores many of the statues found in Petra. At 5 p.m., I took the Jett Bus (10 dinars) to Amman, the capital of Jordan.
