On the 221st day, I finally boarded a plane to return to Indonesia. I ended my adventure much sooner than I had initially imagined. I had agreed to return to Indonesia for the Chinese New Year (early February) and felt that I was stuck in Egypt and could not continue to proceed to the next country before February. Of course, I should have been able to travel around Egypt. Originally, I planned to go to Luxor, Aswan, and Alexandria, but because I had decided to go home I was no longer enthusiastic about traveling aimlessly. Long story short, I left Cairo, Egypt. In the morning I transited at Sadat and walked to Tahrir Square. Nearby, across from the Egyptian Museum, there is the Gift Shop Bazaar, a souvenir shop with reasonable prices. I still bargained because I bought a lot. If you go to other shops like in Old Cairo, the prices could be up to five times higher and you need to bargain like crazy. Here, you don't need to. The airport bus terminal is located nearby. I took bus 356 from in front of Ramses Hilton. The ticket was 11.5 Egyptian pounds ($0.4) for a 22-km trip to Cairo Airport, east of the city. At the immigration, I was briefly detained because the officer suspected my visa-on-arrival, which Indonesian citizens usually cannot obtain. After he coordinated with his superiors, I was finally allowed to pass. The Etihad plane departed an hour late. The plane flew over the Gulf of Suez when it was already dark. I arrived in Abu Dhabi at midnight and boarded a plane to Jakarta at 2 a.m. I could sleep on the plane. The next afternoon, I saw Sumatra Island, a sign that I had entered Indonesia. Then, the plane passed Pulau Seribu, a sign that I would land in Jakarta very soon. The green, fertile, and beautiful island of Java reminded me that Indonesia is very blessed by God. Soon, I landed at Soekarno-Hatta. That was the end of my adventure in 2023. I thank everyone who have faithfully followed and supported my journey.
