On the 107th day, I took the Uzbek Railways west, to Nukus, where I would transfer to a bus bound for Muynak, a town that used to be on the shores of the Aral Sea. Uzbek Railways is part of the Trans-Caspian Railway connecting Central Asian countries with Moscow. For example, trains from Dushanbe, Tajikistan, need to pass through Uzbekistan to reach Russia. The train I took this time was a regular long distance train (1000+ km) where the seats could be converted into beds. I got the top bunk where the window can be opened to see the view more clearly. On a 17 hour train like this we can interact with local people. I made new friends on the train, like Rasul from Turtkul, and an old lady who shared her bread with me. The journey continued until I arrived in Samarkand after a 4 hour journey from Tashkent. (Note: I will return to Samarkand on my way back to Tashkent). The train continued on until the sun set and the sky slowly turned dark. By 10 pm I had reached Bukhara. Hopefully we will arrive in Nukus the next morning as scheduled. ___ Sumatra Stage 1 Route (DONE!): Jakarta - Bandar Lampung - Baturaja - Lahat - Pagar Alam - Bengkulu - Lebong Tandai - Kerinci - Jambi - Kuala Tungkal - Batam - Johor Bahru ASEAN Mainland Stage 2 Route (DONE!): Johor Bahru - Kuala Tahan - Kota Bharu - Su-Ngai Kolok - Nakhon Si Thammarat - Chaiya - Nakhon Pathom - Bangkok - Nakhon Ratchasima - Phimai - Nong Khai - Vientiane - Vang Vieng - Luang Prabang - Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai - Pai - Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai - Boten - Kunming, China China Stage 3 Route (DONE!): Kunming - Dali - Lijiang - Shangri-La - Shambala - Litang - Chengdu - Leshan - Chengdu - Xi'an - Zhangye - Jiayuguan - Dunhuang - Turpan - Urumqi - Almaty, Kazakhstan Stage 4 Central Asia Route: Almaty - Shymkent - Tashkent - Nukus - Muynak - Turtkul - Khiva - Bukhara - Samarkand - Tashkent - Khujand - Fann Mountains - Dushanbe - Kunduz, Afghanistan *Follow my Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/obeysianipar/) for direct messages **Message me for sponsorship --- Music Credits: And Awaken - Stings by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.
