On the 173rd-176th day, I patiently waited for better weather in the Persian Gulf to allow the ferry to depart for the Arabian Peninsula. Unfortunately my budget in Iran had run out and I only had 350,000 Rials ($7) in my wallet. Luckily I had previously bought supplies of bread, snacks and 20 packs of Indomie, and a friend gave me a place to sleep for free. Because of that, I spent the last few days relaxing walking on the beach and around the city of Bandar Abbas. When I headed to the beach during the day, I was quite surprised by a small flock of flamingos on the beach. This was the first time I saw flamingos in the wild so I was stunned under the hot sun for more than an hour. Towards the afternoon, the sea water receded so that I could walk one kilometer towards the dry sea. I really enjoyed the Persian Gulf in the afternoon. Bandar Abbas was very lively around sunset, when it's not too hot. It is said that several malls in Bandar Abbas only open in the afternoon and close at 12 at night. In the evening, the waterfront was filled with street vendors. Meanwhile, during the day the market looked quiet. This city is still developing. However, in my opinion, development of public transportation should be prioritized. When I came to this city, there was only one BRT bus line serving the main road. This was far behind compared to other provincial capitals that I have visited in Iran. They had good public buses and some MRT lines. Hence, I walked a lot in Bandar Abbas. Tomorrow, with better weather, I planned to continue crossing to the UAE. ___ Stage 1 Route - Sumatra (DONE!): Jakarta - Bandar Lampung - Baturaja - Lahat - Pagar Alam - Bengkulu - Lebong Tandai - Kerinci - Jambi - Kuala Tungkal - Batam - Johor Bahru Stage 2 Route - ASEAN Mainland (DONE!): Johor Bahru - Kuala Tahan - Kota Bharu - Su-Ngai Kolok - Nakhon Si Thammarat - Chaiya - Nakhon Pathom - Bangkok - Nakhon Ratchasima - Phimai - Nong Khai - Vientiane - Vang Vieng - Luang Prabang - Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai - Pai - Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai - Boten - Kunming, China Stage 3 Route - China (DONE!): Kunming - Dali - Lijiang - Shangri-La - Shambala - Litang - Chengdu - Leshan - Chengdu - Xi'an - Zhangye - Jiayuguan - Dunhuang - Turpan - Urumqi - Almaty, Kazakhstan Stage 4 Route - Central Asia (DONE!): Almaty - Shymkent - Tashkent - Nukus - Muynak - Turtkul - Khiva - Bukhara - Samarkand - Tashkent - Khujand - Fann Mountains - Dushanbe - Kunduz, Afghanistan Stage 5 Route - Afghanistan (DONE!): Kunduz - Samangan - Mazar-i-Sharif - Balkh - Kabul - Bamiyan - Band-e Amir - Yakawlang - Lal - Chagcharan - Herat - Mashhad, Iran Stage 6 Route - Iran: Mashhad - Tehran - Isfahan - Persepolis - Shiraz - Ahvaz - Shalamcheh Border - Shushtar - Shush - Bandar Abbas - Sharjah, UAE *Follow my Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/obeysianipar/) for direct messages **Message me for sponsorship --- Music Credits: And Awaken - Stings by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.
