Twas the Tism, Ya Git! is the Ork-side answer to 'Twas the Tism, My Lord — a Warhammer 40K drinking song about a Mekboy whose particular blessing is keeping old machines, spare parts and supposedly useless junk alive long after every other Ork would have scrapped it. Gork and Mork bless differently. Weirdboyz know it. Mekboyz know it. And sometimes, ya git, you get the tism. Meet Mick. Mick loves his engine. Every bolt gets checked. Every bearing gets greased. Every coupling gets inspected. Every oil cup gets filled. Every suspicious noise gets investigated. The Boyz think most of it is useless old junk. Mick knows better. In internet slang, “the tism” is a humorous shorthand for autism. Here, Mick's version of it is an intensely focused mechanical special interest: trains, engines, spare parts, maintenance, routines, knowing exactly how everything works, and refusing to throw away a machine simply because everybody else thinks its useful days are over. His Warboss has considerably less patience for this. Unfortunately for the Warboss, when a massive scrap breaks out and the trukks cannot get the Boyz there fast enough, Mick has exactly the machine they need. The Flying Gitsman. A magnificent steam locomotive maintained with a degree of care, precision and emotional attachment that no sensible Ork would ever consider necessary. Until it works. Then suddenly Mick's collection of old parts, careful inspections and obsessive maintenance stop looking quite so stupid. Funny how that happens. 'Twas the Tism, Ya Git! follows the same behavioral idea as 'Twas the Tism, My Lord, but from the Ork side of Warhammer 40K. For the Tech-Priest, the tism meant keeping every cable, bracket and mysterious useful-looking component because it might save the ship one day. For Mick the Mek, it means keeping an old locomotive alive because a proper machine is not dead until the Mek says it is. For Warhammer 40K fans, Ork and Mekboy fans, autistic and neurodivergent humour, special-interest enthusiasts, railway people, steam-train fans, mechanics, engineers, model builders, restorers, hobbyists, and everyone who has ever defended a box of old parts with the words: “Don't throw that away. I might need it.” Because sometimes the useless old thing really does save the day. And then you are doctrinally correct forever. #Warhammer40K #Orks #TheTism Fan-made Warhammer 40K inspired music.
