The fighting on Barniak was supposed to be another evacuation. Then a Salamander found a kindred spirit. By the Flame is an upbeat Warhammer 40K-inspired rock duet about a veteran Salamanders Space Marine and an unusually enthusiastic Sister of Battle fighting together during the evacuation of Barniak. The Salamander has spent centuries learning when to use fire, where to place it, and how to keep civilians alive while the battlefield burns around them. The Sister has a simpler philosophy. If the heretic is still moving, more promethium may be required. At first, he treats her like a student. He corrects her stance. He explains flamer discipline. He tries to teach patience, control, and the proper application of holy fire. She listens. Mostly. But as the battle worsens and the people of Barniak struggle to escape, something changes. Her absolute confidence, her joy in the fight, and her almost unreasonable enthusiasm for flame begin to wake something in the old warrior himself. He has spent centuries carrying duty like a weight. She reminds him that fire can also feel alive. Together they hold the evacuation route, protect the civilians, and turn every enemy advance into another lesson in combustion. The people of Barniak eventually give them names. The Salamander becomes the Dragon. The Sister becomes the Dragonet. And somewhere between instruction, argument, laughter and an alarming quantity of promethium, they become a team. THE DRAGON & DRAGONET He is patient. She is impatient. He believes fire should be controlled. She believes control is important right up until the moment you can burn something. He teaches her discipline. She reminds him why he loved the flame in the first place. By the Flame is their first adventure. For fans of Salamanders, Sisters of Battle, Adepta Sororitas, Space Marines, Warhammer 40K character songs, rock duets, grimdark comedy and extremely enthusiastic use of promethium. The Dragon and Dragonet may return. Barniak was only where they met. Created by Solar Void. #Warhammer40K #Salamanders #SistersOfBattle Fan-made Warhammer 40K inspired music.
