Currently Playing: Commander Dante – You Can't Always Get What You Want | Warhammer 40K Inspired Music

Commander Dante has served the Imperium for more than fifteen centuries. He has fought wars without number, watched generations of warriors come and go, defended Baal against Hive Fleet Leviathan, faced the Swarmlord, and carried the burden of the Blood Angels longer than almost anyone could imagine. The poor bastard would just like a day off. Unfortunately, the Imperium has other plans. Even death didn't quite work. After the Devastation of Baal, Dante found himself facing Sanguinius and believing his long service was finally over. Instead, duty called again. Then Roboute Guilliman arrived — which might have seemed like the perfect opportunity for retirement — and appointed Dante Lord Regent of Imperium Nihilus instead. So naturally, the Astra Militarum wrote a drinking song about it. According to entirely unreliable regimental tradition, “You Can't Always Get What You Want” can occasionally be heard in Imperial Guard barracks, mess halls and taverns wherever soldiers are sufficiently drunk and sufficiently far away from Blood Angels. It is sung in good spirit. Probably best not to explain that to a Blood Angel. A comedic Warhammer 40K inspired tavern song about Commander Dante, Sanguinius, the Devastation of Baal, Hive Fleet Leviathan, the Blood Angels, Roboute Guilliman and the unfortunate reality that outstanding service to the Imperium is generally rewarded with more work. Raise your cup for Commander Dante. He tried retirement. They gave him half an Imperium. Fan-made Warhammer 40K inspired music.
