Welcome back to the Kinlaig Farm Estate Timelapse. Today’s episode is built around multiple smaller farm tasks that keep the entire operation running smoothly. We begin with livestock care, delivering feed to both the sheep and cows to maintain stable animal production and output. Next, a hired worker is sent out to mulch the fields, clearing residues and preparing the soil for the next planting cycle. While that work continues, we prepare the combine harvester for a correction task. One soybean field that had been cut into swaths earlier was accidentally left unthreshed, so today we head out to finish the job and recover the missing crop. Once the soybeans are collected, the combine returns to the yard and we switch into straw recovery mode. Our self-propelled baler and a tractor equipped with a bale stacker are sent to the wheat and oat fields to collect leftover straw. Since the fields are compact, the baling operation is completed quickly and the equipment is parked again. Production logistics remain a priority. Pallets of packaged flour are loaded at the mill and delivered for sale, while finished fish feed is transported to the fish hatchery to keep aquaculture output active. Field preparation continues as we take control of the mulcher from the hired worker and finish several remaining plots ourselves. After mulching, we attach a granular fertilizer spreader and apply nutrients across the prepared fields, moving one step closer to the next sowing cycle. To finish the day, we connect a log trailer to the truck and head to our forest plot.
