Welcome back to the Kinlaig Farm Estate Timelapse. We begin the day by taking care of our growing cattle operation. Water is loaded into a tanker while balanced feed is loaded into trailers, and both are delivered to our two barns to keep livestock production running smoothly. With the animals supplied, we shift our attention to a major expansion project. Construction of the old windmill has been progressing slowly since the early days of the farm, when funds were limited. Now that the business has stable income, we decide not to wait any longer and build a modern mill next to the new machinery yard. As soon as construction is completed, wheat from our storage facilities is delivered to begin flour production. The new mill is a key part of a much larger plan. For a long time, we have owned an industrial fish feed factory but lacked a source of suitable flour. This investment finally brings us closer to launching that production chain. To complete the setup, we also begin constructing an oil mill nearby, which will process rapeseed into oil—another critical ingredient for fish feed production. Meanwhile, field operations continue. A hired worker is assigned to mow canola and other ripe crops into swaths, preparing them for separate harvesting. While the worker handles that task, we invest in a new corn header and put it to work in a field of ripe sunflowers. The harvesting team moves into the field and begins collecting sunflower seeds. Once the sunflower harvest is finished, we stay in the area and tackle a nearby barley field. The crop is first mowed into swaths and then immediately threshed, maximizing efficiency.
