Welcome back to the Kinlaig Farm Estate Timelapse. We continue the corn silage operation started in the previous episode, pushing for maximum bale output before shifting back to field preparation. The harvesting setup remains highly coordinated: a universal baler equipped with a corn header chops the crop and forms silage bales, followed by a tractor with a bale wrapper that seals each bale in film. A third tractor equipped with a stacker collects and organizes the finished bales for transport and storage. Work begins on the first corn field and then moves directly to the second, maintaining continuous flow between mowing, wrapping, and stacking. By the end of the operation, a total of 162 corn silage bales are produced, securing a strong feed base for livestock and future production chains. Once harvesting is complete, all equipment returns to the yard, and attention shifts back to soil management. A mulcher is used to break down remaining corn residues, improving field conditions for the next crop cycle. To enhance fertility naturally, we invest in a manure spreader trailer, load it with manure from the cowshed, and apply organic fertilizer across both fields. The final step is crop rotation. A tractor with a seeder is brought in, and soybeans are sown on both prepared fields.
