Welcome back to the Kinlaig Farm Estate Timelapse. This episode focuses on scaling production through smart investments and time-critical decisions. We start by expanding the dairy operation, spending funds on additional dairy cows and delivering water to the pen to bring milk production online as quickly as possible. With livestock secured, we move straight into field preparation. A mulcher is attached, and three fields are processed to clear residues and improve soil conditions. After mulching, granular fertilizer is applied to boost yield potential. Once the fields are ready, a tractor with a seeder is brought in, and a hired worker is assigned to sow soybeans, keeping crop production moving without delays. While crops are being planted, we shift attention to aquaculture logistics. Pallets of fish are collected from the ponds and transported to the point of sale, generating immediate income. As soon as the funds arrive, we reinvest them into farm expansion. A new field with ripe barley is purchased, and harvesting begins without hesitation. The crop is first mowed into clean swaths, then a combine harvester is brought in to pick up and thresh the barley efficiently. With the grain secured, a critical processing decision must be made. There is an old mill in the area, but restoring it would require a major investment and significant time. Since time is the limiting factor, we choose a faster solution and build a new mill directly near our farmyard.
