Welcome back to the Kinlaig Farm Estate Timelapse. Today we complete the second phase of separate harvesting by threshing the crops that were previously mowed into swaths. The operation begins with wheat. A swath pick-up header is attached to the combine harvester, allowing us to collect the cut windrows efficiently and separate the grain. To speed up straw processing, we organize a coordinated harvesting setup. A self-propelled baler works directly behind the combine harvester, picking up the straw and forming bales immediately after threshing. Two tractors support the operation: one tractor with a trailer loader follows the combine to collect the harvested grain, while another tractor equipped with a bale stacker follows the baler to gather and transport the finished straw bales. The harvested wheat grain is transferred into truck trailers and transported to the storage facility, ensuring a steady supply for future production chains. Field by field, the equipment moves across the farm until all wheat swaths are completely threshed and the straw is collected. After finishing the wheat harvest, we switch to soybean threshing. This stage requires less equipment because straw baling is not necessary. The combine harvester continues working through the soybean fields while logistics handle grain transport. Both wheat and soybeans play an important role in the farm’s internal production system.
