Can you imagine a baby just being observed? No real co-regulation or attuned care and connection? [I mean, imagine having a puppy or kitten and just watching it in a cage and never connecting with it, playing, or cuddling it?] Well, from working with humans for nearly 30 years now, plus simply observing humanity in general, and reading the literature and the works of folks like childhood psychiatrist Dr. Bruce Perry (just to name one expert that I refer often to), I know that many little humans are ignored, neglected, and grow up in unimaginable circumstances. Yet, somehow we survive! It's quite remarkable when you think about it.
