We Bear the Word is a blackened liturgical metal anthem for the Word Bearers with their human and daemon choir, the XVII Legion and one of the original Traitor Legions of Warhammer 40,000. The Word Bearers do not fight for pleasure, freedom, or peace. They fight to spread what they call the Primordial Truth: the belief that the Chaos Gods are real, that the soul is inseparable from the Warp, and that denying this truth is a betrayal of nature itself. Once punished for worshipping the Emperor, the Word Bearers rose from the ashes of Monarchia and became the warrior-priests of Chaos. Led by Dark Apostles, they conquer worlds not merely to destroy them, but to convert them. Scripture, sermons, ritual, possession, and sacred violence are all weapons in their endless mission. This song presents the Word Bearers as they would present themselves: not as corrupted monsters, but as the only Legion willing to confront the universe as it truly is.
