I found this 3-piece Bassett furniture set on Facebook Marketplace for only $60 (marked down from $100), but it definitely came with some work to turn it into something beautiful! In this furniture makeover, I’m taking a dated dresser and nightstand set and giving it a full professional refinishing from start to finish. This set needed a lot of work before it was ready for its transformation. I trimmed the base, shuffled the drawers until everything fit correctly, sanded, scuffed, repaired exposed grain, sealed joints, fixed the wobble, filled and drilled new hardware holes, and prepped every surface before moving it into the spray tent for primer, paint, and topcoat. The final look is a soft, light taupe finish with all new champagne gold hardware and fully lined drawers. What started as an old and dated Marketplace furniture find turned into a beautiful, modern refinished Bassett bedroom set.
