The dog thought these nightstands were a chew toy! This solid wood pair of nightstands had beautiful potential hiding beneath a worn-out finish and a bit of puppy damage. Featuring a classic curved front and sturdy construction, these pieces were well worth the revival. I started by repairing a chewed corner using Bondo, then sanded away the deteriorated topcoat to prep the surface for a flawless new finish. Inside the spray tent, I began with an oil-based primer to lock in any stubborn stains and knots, followed by my go-to bonding primer to create a durable foundation. Once prepped and primed, the nightstands were transformed with a bold, sophisticated coat of matte black—timeless, dramatic, and effortlessly chic. To elevate the final look, I added antique brass knobs that perfectly contrast the deep black finish while highlighting the warm undertones of the wood. What started as a tired old set is now a show-stopping duo ready for a fresh new space.
