I was out walking the dogs when I spotted something I almost never see in my neighborhood: furniture sitting out in the wild with a FREE sign on it. We don’t have bulk trash days here, so finding a free dresser on the side of the road is definitely not normal. I hurried and finished the walk, came home, loaded the dogs into the truck, and went back to pick it up before someone else did. I quickly realized it was free for a reason. This dresser was coming apart at the seams, and not just in one spot. I put the sides back together, secured the loose top, added structure underneath to correct the bowed sides, filled pine knots and countless dents, drilled new hardware holes, added new legs, and finished it in the cutest chambray blue. This freebie turned into the sweetest little dresser, but whew, it was a lot of work. Things are usually free for a reason.
