In this video, I take you through the full restoration process of an 8-drawer Henredon dresser that was given to me for free by a neighbor. At first glance, the piece showed heavy wear, deep scratches, uneven color, and years of buildup—but underneath it all was solid wood worth saving. I walk through my step-by-step process for bringing this dresser back to life, including: evaluating the condition of antique and vintage furniture cleaning and stripping the existing finish sanding and prepping the wood properly repairing worn areas and addressing surface damage preparing the piece for a new finish restoring the natural beauty of the wood by staining, sealing and applying topcoat for durability.
