When I saw this set come up for free on Facebook, I was responding to the ad while I was getting in my truck! You have to jump on these quickly. When people decide they just want it gone, you have to be there fast! I got it home and inspected it all and other than the typical wear and tear and the outdated red stain, they are in pretty good condition. I started by removing the hardware, giving the piece a thorough cleaning, and deciding on a new hardware style. With my updated hardware choice, I filled the existing holes using Bondo for a flawless cover-up. Next, I trimmed and sanded the base to give it a more modern silhouette and fully exposed the wood grain. I created a custom stain for the base and tinted the topcoat to achieve a rich, weathered brown tone that adds warmth and character. Once prepped, the dresser headed into the spray tent for primer, paint, and a durable topcoat. Finally, I installed the new hardware to complete the look. This versatile dresser set can complement a variety of design styles, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out—it's quickly becoming one of my favorite refinishing projects!
