I thought I scored a great deal on this $35 Facebook Marketplace dresser—until I picked it up. What was listed as "amazing condition" turned out to be a total trainwreck—broken drawers, deep gouges, a failing finish, and plenty of battle scars. But I saw potential, and this piece was about to get a major transformation. First, I stripped the top down to bare wood to give it a fresh start. Then, I flipped the entire dresser over and built new supports for brand-new legs—because let’s be honest, this piece needed a serious style upgrade. After what felt like endless sanding, I made sure the drawers were back in their rightful places (labeling them helped a ton!). I also repaired a damaged drawer guide to get everything sliding smoothly again. Once the repairs were done, it was time for paint! Into the spray tent it went for primer, paint, and a protective topcoat. Then came the fun part—choosing the perfect hardware. I tested a few options before settling on the right fit, drilled new holes, lined the drawers, and installed the final touches. Now, you’d never guess this dresser started as a $35 disaster.
