* EXTENDED CUT* Watch me transform a pair of thrifted nightstands with a new gorgeous taupe color, new legs, and updated hardware. This makeover includes repairs, prepping, priming, and painting for a completely custom look. These took two years for me to finally complete. I just couldn't come up with a design. Then when I saw them recently, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Sometimes you never know when a piece will finally inspire you. They needed plenty of repairs, and I had to get creative adding legs. Removing the doors may divide opinions, but honestly, the doors were what was throwing me off all this time. Look back at where these started: dark, dated, failing finish and big chunky details, this new look was worth every minute of ugly. Now they stand on beautiful modern legs with a gorgeous knob in brushed gold and they feel like entirely different pieces.
